On the 13th day of February Umang Software Technologies organized ‘Code till you drop’ a team Coding competition for the employees of the Umang family. The competition was a hardcore coding contest to test the mettle of the team. The contest was to comprise of two teams with captains mutually selecting the team members. The aim of the contest was to enhance the team work and to handle pressure of a project in short time frame and collectively helping your team towards the goal.
The curtains raised, ring set and on one side were team captain Shirish AKA $pY and his members Satish and Sapna, On the other side captain Presley AKA [V|D3L] with Poonam and Pradnnya.
The battle aim –A virtual slot machine using c#.net and OpenGL framework for rich animation.
The battle booty – Surprise..!! And movie tickets at INOX , Panjim.
The battle time – Till you drop.
The battle ground –Umang Development area 1.
Let the Battle begin..!!
Both teams started with the all their might, guns loaded, sword raised, mouse in one hand and keyboard in the other ;).
The teams started with the documentation and the basic usage of OpenGL in C#.net, just when everything was going smoothly and 3 hours into the battle…came the time for some ‘Tw!st’…the team captains were made to select one member of the other team they would like to have in their own team.
Captain Shirish chose Poonam and captain Presley chose Sapna..but as the twist was to be ..The other members were exchanged.
So Pradnnya would join Shirish and Satish would join Presley.
With Half the battle over and all fighting hard to get the job done. Both teams came close to the finish.
The actually coding started in the second half,
By dusk the teams neared completion and it was time to go home…(pheww)
Come dawn the battle is yet to be won…now the time for judging…
Toss decided the first team in the firing line of the judges..team of Presley, Poonam and Satish and followed by team of Shirish, Pradnnya and Sapna.
Some moments of pain, shaking, excitement and fear…and the winner is Team of Presley Poonam and Satish. (We ruleeee)
A twist in the prize meant Pradnnya took home the surprise booty of West side Gift voucher..!!!
