The journey
Just the word ‘picnic’ brings a cheer and smile to the face of everyone, whether simply going to a park or a historical monument or any other place. The atmosphere is one of excitement, fun and frolic. The cold climate makes the weather suitable for picnic. We met at KTC bus stand Margao at about 9.15 am. All of us were excited about the day ahead of us.
The picnic spot decided by all of us was (Khola) Cola Beach near Blue Lagoon paradise resort. The interior beach made us hunt the way; we were then searching for the place by GPS which and finally we made our way to the amazing destination. On reaching the spot we walked a distance to reach the amazingly beautiful spot.
It was awesome. There were cottages made of cloth, hay, wood. There was also boat ride along the beach side. We then got a picnic spot and made a mini tent of bedspreads, which was not planned and had been decided on the spot. We then settled down with some refreshments.
Lunch time
We made some amazing grilled prawns and mushrooms.Yummmmmy.
Then one of my colleagues made salad with a great creative design. We relished everything and didn’t keep anything behind (we like to keep the place clean:))
Next we played football penalty shootouts and then later we played cricket in teams. After a while we rested then we had a’ name game’, which was great fun.
The time was swiftly passing and we felt hungry at around 1. 30 pm .We all sat in the tent and had lunch ordered from a restaurant. We liked the chicken dishes and the mushroom dishes prepared.
Fun time
After lunch the entertainment began. We then played ‘housie’ and ‘number language game’, the ‘ring passing game’ and also we had lots of surprise prizes.
After the games we then had prize distribution. Lastly we had tea in one of the shacks with the view of the soothing evening sun.We then dashed into the blue waters. The water was cool and refreshing, we splashed and frolicked in the water and made some creative sand structures.
The sunset
After that we played a game of ring in the water. We all watched in awe the dimming sun.
I remembered how eagerly and with what a throbbing heart I had watched the sunrise in the morning. The much awaited day was now going to be another page in the diary of my memory.
How time flies? It was time for us to leave. We packed up and then progressed to our vehicle.
All of us were tired but very happy. It was the first picnic with my umang family.
It was the most amazing picnic. I would like to go for another picnic with my second family (Umang) soon.
