Umang Software Technologies was the only Goan origin company to fly the Goan Flag at CeBIT India – the World’s one of Largest & International IT, Automation & Telecommunication Exhibition. CeBIT originally takes place in Hanover Germany every year, for the every first time the same also took place in Asia with the title CeBIT India at Bangalore – BIEC in association with STPI – Software Technology Parks of India, Government of Karnataka and also the original creators of CeBIT the Hannover Milano Fairs – India.
Inaugural function took place in Hall Two covering an area of almost 30,000 sqms sharing 10,ooo sqms with hall 2 and the remaining 20,000 sqms with hall 3.
This does not include the Conference halls of CeBIT’s Global Conference covered 5600 sqms where the audience was lending their ears to the Industry leaders.
The Hall 2 was shared by Shell Scheme, Bare Scheme, +91 Pavilion, STPI Pavilion. Whereas the hall 3 had Shell Scheme, Bare Scheme, International Pavilion, SaaS Pavilion, IESA Pavilion.
The event was initialized in the hands of Mr. Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka and was preside by Mr. S. R. Patil Minister of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology and Planning & Statistics of Karnataka, along with the other Guest of Honours Mr. Kris Gopalakrishnan (Chairman, Karnataka’s Vision Group – IT), Dr. Omkar Rai (Director General – STPI), Dr. Andreas Gruchow (MOB – Deutsche Messe AG) and Mr. Mehul Shah (MD – Hannover Milano Fairs, India).
The STPI Award’s night was a platform for the CXO’s to network. Of course the main course was the Awards and the Chief Guest was Mr. S.R. Patil along with Dr. Omkar Rai and other guests of honors were prominent people from the industry.
Umang Software Technologies, an IT service-based company from Goa was one of the only to erect its stall and demand audience in this humongous event. UMANG being associated with STPI got this opportunity to showcase its offerings. With 111 being a stamped on the Fascia of the stall among the many, in MAKE IN INDIA Pavilion, UMANG yet managed to pull in customers without getting lost in the crowd. CeBIT Global Conferences was the other side of the coin which the company got the privilege to witness as well. A platform to lend the ears to the Industry leaders like Dr. Vishal Sikka, CEO, Infosys, Dr. Prashant Pradhan, Director, IBM India along with panel-discussion with several others other well-known personalities.
CEO and Cofounder, Mr Mangirish Salelkar says, ‘CeBIT is a great platform. UMANG exhibiting at CeBIT and representing Goa in IT, was proud feeling. Directors of STPI were excited to see an IT company from Goa exhibiting for the first time.’
‘I think IT companies from Goa need to work as a community, and then only we will grow and be recognized. Some of the visitors were surprised to learn that Goa has IT companies. We should stop this island culture and start associating with each other for betterment’, he adds.
